SCHOOL RULES
We believe that the discipline and
the academic performance are supplementary to each other. This school also
believes that the effective learning take place in a conducive and stimulating
environment, an environment where mutual respect and professional relationship
exist between members of the family. In a big institution such as our school, creation
of such enabling environment is possible where every member in the organization
adheres to and follows a set of codes of conduct.
The Students Codes of Conduct or
school rules and regulations therefore shall not only support and promote the
teaching and student learning, they are also aimed at character building and
personality development of our students. It is also to teach our students that
they are living in the society ruled by the laws. Our students learn that
school rules and regulation provide for the orderly operation of the school.
Our young children must learn that when they are living in group, it is not
always easy to get their own ways. A
However, the breach of any of the
rules is an offence and shall call for disciplinary actions as per the
discipline policy. Besides all teachers being professionally empowered, the
school has also instituted a committee called School Discipline Committee to
see to it that students live within the rules and regulations; that it provides
consistency of application and equality of treatment.
Student Code of Conduct (Rules and Regulations)
- Students
must put on the full set of school uniform during school hours and other
school activities and functions as per the standards set by the school,
unless instructed otherwise.
- All students must follow the school timing strictly. They must reach the venue at least FIVE minutes before the time.
- Students must be present in all school activities like Assembly, Classes, Games, SUPW (Work), Prayers, studies, Competition. Etc.
- Students must show respect to teachers and elders and must make it a practice to greet them regardless of time and place.
- Students must take care of furniture, electric fittings, water fittings and other properties. Any student damaging properties belonging to school/government shall be liable for payment of the full cost with additional 20% administrative charge.
- Class room doors and windows must be properly locked, light and taps turned off when not in use.
- Smoking, chewing tobacco & doma, consuming alcohol, taking drugs and gambling by students are considered very serious offences.
- All dangerous items like chains, knife, knuckle, etc. are prohibited. Anyone carrying such items shall be viewed seriously.
- No students should be involved in forming gangs or unauthorized meetings. Involvement in such activity is a serious offence.
- Students should not write on walls, furniture, steps, roads & public places. Writing graffiti anywhere is serious offence calling for serious disciplinary actions.
- Students are not permitted to wear fancy lockets, hair bands, earrings, make-ups, long nails and nail polishes. Students must keep short and uniformly cut hair with no side locks, bleaching or hair fixers. Girls keep their hair up to appropriate length and neatly tied with BLACK rubber bands
- Once
in the school campus students must speak compulsorily in Dzongkha and
English only.
13. All the students must obtain a minimum
attendance of 90% failing which will result in his / her withdrawal from
writing examination (both internal and external).
14. Students should not go out of school campus
during class hours or any other school activities without proper permission.
15. Students should not use unhealthy and obscene language.
16. Students must be in national dress in all public places.
17. Students must follow pedestrian traffic rules. Always follow your
left while walking on road.
18. Senior students should be role models and caring to the junior
students.
19. Day scholar students must bring their own
packed lunch and drinking water to school and
they must reach straight home after school hours.
20. In visiting hospital, during the school hours,
students must obtain prior permission from the health in charges and follow the
timing specified by the school.
21. Students should carry school bags to minimize
damages to textbooks.
22. Students should not write or scribble on
text/library books.
23. In case of
lose or damages of either Text books or Library, a student concern has to pay
full cost plus 20% of the cost of the book as administrative charge.
24. Students should not carry mobile phones, music
sets or other electronic gadgets to the school. If anyone found carrying any of
those prohibited items, shall be seized become the property of the school.
25. Students having illicit relationship with the
opposite sex shall be treated as serious offence calling for severe disciplinary
actions.
26. No student will remain absent from the class
unnecessarily. Any student not able to attend class due to genuine
sickness or otherwise, must send leave
letter duly counter signed by parents/ guardians for day students and by matron
or warden for boarder students.
27. Tattooing on the body is strictly
prohibited. Anyone found with tattoos (be it erasable or permanent) shall
penalized.
28. SUPW
points shall be deducted for those coming late for studies (For boarders), Prayers,
and any other school activities. The deduction points shall be double in each
time the student comes late.
29. Any
one remaining absent from the evening prayers shall be fine NU: 10/- (Ten) for
the first time. The amount of fine shall double thereon.
RULES FOR BOARDERS
The following rules are laid out
for the guidance of boarders in addition to the general rules:
1. You
should get up at the rising bell and tidy the beds immediately.
2. You
should not change the place allotted to you in the dormitory, prayer hall,
dining hall and study hall.
3. You
are not permitted to go outside the school complex without permission. If you
need to go on emergency, you should obtain an out pass from warden/matron.
4. If
you are sick you should report to the warden/matron and get your name
registered in the sick list.
5. The
lights in the dormitories will put off at 10:00 pm. immediately after night
checking. Once the lights are off you should not roam around. You should stay
in bed.
6. Captains
and room in charges are responsible for the cleanliness of their hostels and
surroundings.
7. You
should attend all meals compulsorily. You should collect meals and sit in the
place allotted to you. You are not allowed to take meals in the hostels at all
times unless you are sick.
8. You
are not allowed to entertain visitors stay in the hostel.
9. Two
students eating from one plate is not acceptable.
10. Outing will
be given once a week (boys and girls alternately). Saturday for boys and Sunday
for girls.
11. Except mess
captains you are not supposed to enter the kitchen. Private cooking in the
school premises will be taken seriously.
12. Study is must
for all the boarders. If the students is third time absent from the study shall
be directly sent as a day scholar without any warning and counseling.
13. You should not
use or put solid materials in the toilets.
14. Leave will
not be sanctioned unless it is found absolutely necessary.
15. You should
put off the lights and close water taps when not in use.
16. Building
fire in and outside the hostel is strictly prohibited. If anyone found not
complying with this clause shall be liable for serious disciplinary action
RULES FOR DAYSCHOLARS
In addition to the general rules
& regulations laid down by the school, students are expected to follow the
following:
- Attend
and participate in all the school activities unless otherwise informed.
- Not
permitted to go into the hostels at any time.
- Not
to encourage and involve with boarders in any negative activities.
- Advised
to go home immediately after school activities. No loitering around the campus
and outside in the shops, etc.
- You
are not allowed to go out of school campus during school hours.
- Any
absence from school without information will automatically lead to the
deduction of SUPW Marks @50 points per day and in serious doubtful cases
the students will be on report detained and parents will be informed
accordingly. This then shall be mentioned in their school leaving
certificates. This also applies to Boarder.
